The 1st Takamatsu International Piano Competition is an artistic event which will provide a forum to bring together top musicians from all over the world. It is also an international event which aims to build a new culture of music onto Kagawa’s traditional culture, and it is a musical competition, taking place at Sunport Takamatsu, overlooking the beautiful Inland Sea, which will encourage young people to stretch themselves and to seize their dreams and goals.

Format of the judging
The competition will be divided into the initial selection round, the preliminaries (rounds 1~3), and the final.
The initial selections will be judged using a recording.
The preliminary rounds and the final will be open to the public.
The Judging
●The judging of all rounds will be carried out by a panel of 11 or 13 judges, in accordance with the rules which are outlined separately.
●The results of all evaluations will be announced publicly.
●Judges who have taught any of the contestant during the past 2 years will be excluded from the judging.
●The judges will have no contact with the contestants between the first and the final rounds. This will not apply to any contestants who have been eliminated from the competition at an earlier stage.
●The judges’ decision is final, there will be no appeals, and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the results.
