How to apply
Please fill in the official application form (which can also be downloaded from the competition web-site) and send the followings by registered mail to the competition office. Applications sent by courier or delivered by hand will not be accepted.
Documents
1) 2 colour passport photographs taken within 6 months of the date of application (4cm x 5cm, upper body only)
* 1 to be affixed to your application form
* 1 to be used for publicity materials, such as the programme
2) A copy of your passport, or another official proof of age
3) CD of your performance of the pieces (see P12) for the initial selection (cassette, MD, DAT are all acceptable)
* Please write your name, the names of the pieces, and where and when they were recorded on the submitted material.
* The performances should have been recorded after the 1st Sept. 2008
* We cannot return any materials submitted

The Competition Organisation and affiliated bodies cannot be held in any way responsible for any loss or damage to any application materials in transit.
Deadline
All entries must be posted by 15th Sept.(Tue) 2009
(Postmark 15th Sept.(Tue) 2009 is acceptable)

Competition Entry Fee
Contestants who are selected to compete in the preliminary rounds will be required to pay a competition entry fee of ￥30,000 into the account specified below by the 15th Jan. (Fri) 2010.
The fee must be posted by the deadline.
※ If the payment of the fee is not received by this deadline, the contestant will be disqualified.

- Any bank charges are to be paid in full by the contestant.
- Entry fee and bank charges paid will not be reimbursed by the organisers under any circumstances.
Registration for the competition
- All contestants are expected to attend the opening ceremony, the details of which they will be notified of by the competition office. The competition registration will only be possible after the attendance at the ceremony.
- Contestants who cannot perform in the order specified will be disqualified.
- The performance order for contestants who have made it through to Round 1 will be decided in strict impartiality by lots drawn by the Chair of Music Committee
- After Round 2, contestants may draw lots themselves to determine the order in which they will perform for the subsequent rounds; the Chair of Music Committee will decide the order of performance based on this drawing.
