Application

Eligibility

Individuals born between 1st January 1983 and 1st January 2003.

Application Period

1st April 2017 - 20th September 2017
(The application should be postmarked no later than 20th September 2017.)
*Application shall be sent by registered mail within Japan and by Express Mail Service from overseas.

How to apply

Applicant shall apply online or by post.

[1] How to apply online

Enter required information in the Entry Sheet on the official website (http://www.tipc.jp) and upload the following data (1-3).

  1. A DVD recording (in DVD-video format) of the applicant performing the set pieces.
    *A DVD recorded in DVD-video format shall be compressed and uploaded to the VIDEO_TS folder.
  2. One color photograph taken within 6 months of the application date.
    (Upper body/Resolution of 300 dpi or more is recommended.)
    *The photo will be used for the official competition program and other media purposes.
  3. A PDF or JPG file of an official document, such as a passport, as evidence of the applicant’s name, nationality, and age.
    *Please see the official website for how to prepare the entry sheet.
    *The entered data can be edited during the application period (1 April 2017 -20 September 2017).

[2] How to apply by post

Applicants shall send the following documents and a DVD to the TIPC Office by 20th September 2017.

  1. Application.
    *Available for download from the official website. (http://www.tipc.jp) (PDF, others)
  2. A DVD recording of the applicant performing the set pieces.
    *The DVD shall be in DVD-video format. "Recording of the performance" shall be observed.
  3. Two color photographs taken within 6 months of the application date.
    (* 4 × 5 cm/ Upper body / Resolution of 300 dpi or more recommended / your name and the date of recording shall be written on the backside.)
    *Prepare two identical photographs, one to be affixed to the application form and one to be used for publicity materials, such as the program.
  4. An official document or its copy, such as a passport, as evidence of the applicant’s name, nationality, and age.

Remark

  • Only applications which are postmarked no later than the due date will be accepted.
  • Applications with insufficient or incomplete responses will not be reviewed by the Preliminary Judges.
  • Online applicants should contact the Office if an email confirming application is not received within one week of application. Postal applicants should contact the Office if an email confirming application is not received within ten days of the postal date.
  • Applications must correctly contain the name of the composer, the name of the piece of music, the key, the opus number, the movement and other necessary information regarding the piece of music selected.
  • Documents, DVDs, etc. submitted for application will not be returned.
