2016 TIPC Promotion Event 1: School Visit Recital♪

In cooperation with Takamatsu City as last year, the Takamatsu International Piano Competition (TIPC) Promotion Event will be held this year.
School visit recitals have been held since last year and this was the fourth school visit this year. We invited the 3rd TIPC finalist Kiana Reid and visited Yashima Elementary School in the morning and Aji Elementary School in the afternoon of June 13, 2016.
The program included:

After playing these eight pieces, Ms. Reid asked the students,
"Can you sing the song "Sanpo" from the movie "Totoro"?"
The students were very happy and became excited.They sang the song with her accompaniment.
Then, they also sang their school song with her piano after taking some questions from them.
Following a word of thanks and a bouquet of flowers, the students sang a song for her as a surprise.
Ms. Reid was deeply moved to tears. It was a very nice recital.
