4th Takamatsu International Piano Competition

Starting this year, Takamatsu International Piano Competition (TIPC), in cooperation with Takamatsu City, will offer various TIPC promotional events hoping to contribute to development of music culture in Takamatsu. 

The first event, which was a school visit recital. was held at Yashima Junior High School and Aji Junior High School in June 15, 2015, inviting Mr. Andrei Shychko. Mr. Shychko was the second-prize winner at the 3rd Takamatsu Internation Piano Competition held in 2014.

 

He played;
Chopin:
 Étude Op.10-1, Op.10-12 Op.25-6
 Waltz Op.64-1, Op.64-2
 Nocturne Op.9-2
 Ballade Op.23
Liszt: 
 Hungarian Rhapsodies No. 2

After played, he politely answered all questions asked by students and at the end, all students sang their school song with him playing the piano.

It was a rare and memorable experience both of Mr. Shychko, who have never played at a Japanese school, and the students, who do not listen the live performance by a pianist.

This event will be held in September and next Feburary and many others will follow.
