The competition consists of Preliminaries (Round 1-3) and a Final. Judging will be based on the contestants’ performances of their selection from the set pieces.

3. Repertoire
Round 1
Contestants will be required to play one piece from group (A), one piece from group (B), and one piece from group (C). The performance time should be no more than 20 minutes in total.
(A) Bach: one piece from "The Well-Tempered Clavier", vol. I or vol. II
(B) Chopin: one piece from either Etude Op. 10 or Op. 25 (contestants may play
the same piece that they performed during the Initial Selections)
(C) One piece composed after 1900 (contestants may NOT play the same piece that
they performed during the Initial Selections)
Round 2
Contestants will be required to play one piece from group (A) and one piece from group (B). The performance time should be no more than 45 minutes in total.
(A) Haydn, Mozart, or Beethoven: all the movements of a sonata
(B) Piece(s) of your choice by Schumann, Brahms, Schubert, Mendelssohn, Chopin, or Liszt
(You may choose pieces by multiple composers. In the case of a sonata,
you may choose which movement(s) to play).
Round 3
Contestants will be required to play both (A) and (B).
(A) A piece commissioned for this competition (about 6 minutes in length)

The musical score will be sent to contestants three months before the
competition.
The piece must be performed from memory. Contestants may not
perform this piece publicly before this competition.
(B) Mozart: one concerto of your choice from the list below, to be performed with
the chamber instruments, in the cadence of your choice
