1. Practice sessions
The organizers will provide the following practice facilities to all contestants during the competition free of charge.
- A practice room with a piano for four hours per day from Sunday 9th March 2014.
- Each contestant will have one practice session with the orchestra before Round 3 and one before the Final. In principle, the rehearsal before Round 3 will be for a maximum of 40 minutes and the rehearsal before Final Round will be for a maximum of 90 minutes (including meetings with the conductor).
2. Transportation
See below for details of the travel grants covering travel to and from Takamatsu, which the organizers will provide for successful contestants from overseas.
- Contestants travelling from Asian countries outside Japan will be eligible for travel grants to the value of ¥50,000.
- Contestants travelling from any countries outside Asia will be eligible for travel grants to the value of ¥100,000.
- Japanese nationals residing overseas will be eligible for travel grants to half the value of the above amounts.
- All grants will be paid in Japanese yen.
- The organizers also agree to provide free transportation between the venue, the practice facilities and contestants’ accommodation (which will be specified by the organizers) free of charge.
Any other expenses incurred will be borne by the contestants themselves.
3. Financial assistance for other expenses
The accommodation costs for all contestants will be borne by the organizers from 3 days prior to the start of the competition (Sunday 9th March 2014) until the end of the period indicated below. Accommodation will be limited to the accommodation chosen by the organizers and the organizers will pay the expenses for this accommodation only.
All other expenses incurred during the stay (food, drink, communications, etc.) will be at the personal expense of the contestant.
- Round 1 contestants: The morning of the day after the judging of the first round
- Round 2 contestants: The morning of the day after the judging of the second round
- Round 3 contestants: The morning of the day after the judging of the third round
- Finalists: The morning of the second day after the final round.
Any expense other than those mentioned above will be borne solely by contestants themselves.
The organizers can introduce contestants to host families if they wish to do a home stay after their participation in the competition has ended.
